Catching up

Time for a little catching up. Its been 2 weeks since I last posted and to be honest nothing really major has happened. Let me see... I am really enjoying my job and I am loving the shifts. It is mainly night work as we do the majority of the testing when the other trains have finished their runs for the night. This means I am sleeping during the day and surprisingly I am managing to obtain 7-8 hours sleep, even with my inconsiderate neighbours. On the new home front everything is moving along nicely at the moment. I shall have an update for my building blog http://www.squeakbuilds.blogspot.com this weekend. Our little puppy is growing fast and is currently in the rebellious teenager stage of his life. This is proving to be a lot of fun as he is choosing to ignore alot of the ground rules that have been set down for him. Here is a pic: In my previous post I mentioned that I am struggling on the night photography front. It had been a few...

Favourite Photos - Sheldon

I have 2 Favourite's this time around, and instead of doing to separate posts I shall include them in the one. Photo - Please daddy, can I have some more? Click to view photo on Flickr It took me some time to set this shot up because of 2 things. The first being trying to get the puppy to stay focused and still, and the second getting the right lighting. The sun kept going behind the clouds every time I attempted to take the shot. When it finally came back the puppy had moved. In the end I like the result. Mainly the soft background I think sets this photo and well the puppy makes it cute! Photo - Sheldon Click to view photo in Flickr This is a shot I didn't know how it was going to look when I took it. It looks completely different on the computer than it did on the LCD on the camera. At first I thought it would look like a puppy's face with the body hidden behind. then I thought it would look like a puppy laying on the grass. Instead I got w...

Puppy Sheldon Update - 12 Weeks Old

Our puppy has reached 12 weeks or 3 Months old! and boy hasn't time flew!! When we first got him he looked like this: 6 weeks old To this: 12 weeks old He has almost tripled in size. We had a few little things happen on the journey thus far including a reaction to the vaccinations which seen him spend some time with the vet. He is attending puppy pre-school and I may be bias but he is the best puppy there! Thanks to all our friends who have sent their wishes along the way when he was sick. They all helped in his speedy recovery i'm sure :) We have now started training the little fella and he is doing remarkably well. he is learning sit, stay, fetch, drop, look, and jump. Once he learns these he will learn a few tricks.

Pretty Quiet Week

Last week was even quieter than the week before. not many things to look forward to except one. A good friend of mine was to be married. I will talk about that in another post. Apart from this being the major highlight of the week one other thing stands out. I was listening to my radio and heard NSWFB attending a grass fire at Cranebrook. My ears pricked up and I grabbed my camera and took off to the location. I had wanted to grab some fire shots for a while and was pretty happy with the results. See my post Grass Fire Cranebrook for the details.  Oh our little puppy started Puppy preschool this week and he is currently top of the class. He was the most well behaved and obedient dog there and got high praises for being a quick learner. WIN!

Last week

The last week has been rather dull and boring for me. A few things here and there happened but nothing to outstanding. I wonder if this is what my life is coming to..dull and boring! I hope not! The highlights of the week were Lunch with Drue and Ben and Lunch with Chris. The puppy is doing well after a little incident of me trying to make pancakes out of him and squishing his internals. A quick trip to the vet found he had a bruised liver and spleen, which has healed up nicely. I felt so shit when this happened and started to freak out. I turned to twitter to vent and chat but that was a bad Idea, so I just dealt with it myself. I would like to say thankyou though to those who expressed concern for our puppy.

We finally have our new puppy!

(Click photo to view in Flickr) Saturday was the day I been hanging for the last 5 yrs. Time for us to pick up our puppy Sheldon. Sheldon is a mini foxie. I don't know who is more nervous, me or the puppy. I have never raised a dog from pup before so it will be a challenge no doubt. All the dogs I had when I was younger were from 6 mths and up. So pretty much over the puppy stage, but still a puppy if you know what I mean. Our first night with Sheldon was fun and sort of what I expected. Once he came home he started to explore the house and wanted to pee everywhere. This did not bode well as we have carpet throughout. The night seemed to go like this - Sleep, cry, pee, play, sleep & repeat. It will be interesting to see how much he will cry when I get up for work at midnight during the week. I may have to factor in extra time to have a play to keep him quiet. Sunday we are gong to leave him home alone as we are heading out for a little while, I just hope he doesn't cry...

Favourite Photo - Koopa

(Click to view on Flickr) Spending a day with friends is always good. This photo is of one of Koopa. He belongs to my good friend Drue. After a little while down at the Nepean river taking photos of trains and scenery we went back to his place to take photos of his dogs. The thing I like the most about this photo is the colours and the angle at which the photo is taken.

Were getting a puppy!

Sunday was a fairly relaxing day. It was also my only day off in 12 days. The morning seen us heading to the shops followed by a visit to a friends place were we chose our puppy! :) I would like to introduce Sheldon. our mini fox terrier. If all goes well with the vet and vaccinations he should join us at home on the weekend of 24/25th July. Sooo Excited!

Saturday's Journey's in Pictures

Saturday seen the end of my working week. My day at work had me taking trains to Hornsby, Blacktown and Carlingford. For my trip to Hornsby I was expecting a Tangara to turn up, however an S Set showed. I will have to have words to Leigh about this. When I was rounding the corner between Seven hills and Blacktown fog started to appear. It seemed it was from Blacktown West that was covered in Fog. It was then time for a few trips to Carlingford on the Clyde to Carlingford Line. In the evening Mrs squeak and I headed up to Blaxland to visit some friends and for dinner. A bonus of visiting them is they have a puppy. They have a beagle "Marley"
