Catching up

Time for a little catching up. Its been 2 weeks since I last posted and to be honest nothing really major has happened. Let me see...

I am really enjoying my job and I am loving the shifts. It is mainly night work as we do the majority of the testing when the other trains have finished their runs for the night. This means I am sleeping during the day and surprisingly I am managing to obtain 7-8 hours sleep, even with my inconsiderate neighbours.

On the new home front everything is moving along nicely at the moment. I shall have an update for my building blog http://www.squeakbuilds.blogspot.com this weekend.

Our little puppy is growing fast and is currently in the rebellious teenager stage of his life. This is proving to be a lot of fun as he is choosing to ignore alot of the ground rules that have been set down for him. Here is a pic:

In my previous post I mentioned that I am struggling on the night photography front. It had been a few weeks since I had gone out and taken some photos so I thought I would try night shots. I took my camera out the other night and thought I would give it a shot. Here is one of my results :

A1 @ North Sydney

On a social front I haven't been much of a social butterfly. This is mainly because of work and lots of it. Thank god for things like Facebook and Twitter, which I can use to keep connected with my friends. Speaking of Friends I culled my Facebook friends from 337 to 158. Godspeed to those who I have removed.

With removing over 100 friends I added one to my little social circle. I met up with @102megan. She is one of the most bubbly, fun, nice, caring people I have met. If only my work/sleep patern wasnt so up and down I would love to meet up with her a lot more.

Until the next time my pretties...

Favourite Photos - Jellybean Pool

Trying a little positive note. Here are a few photos that I took. This is my first real attempt at this type of photography. Let me know what you think.

Joys of eBay

I recently purchased a Mini GPS recorder from eBay on the advice of some friends that it would make geo-tagging my photos easier. This I do not doubt but the problem is, is it does not work. The item purchased is a photoMate mini GPS Recorder 887 Lite. It was pretty much DOA. It does not save any data when it is tracking. To rectify this situation I must now send it back to Taiwan, and await the seller to send it back to the manufacturer, then receive the verdict. I am quite sure it is broken as I also had a friend who has the exact same device test it out for me, and it failed. To add to the hurt the seller (navi-world) is a piss poor communicator and it takes days for them to respond to any communication. I should just start a case with eBay and let them deal with it. It is going to cost $20 to send it back. The unit is only worth $30. Question is: Do I cut my losses and buy a new one or follow this through?

Favourite Photo - Flying Embers

I had only recently gotten my camera and Got called away with the RFS to head to a large fire burning in Nowra. I took my camera along to experiment with it at night as I was doing the night shift on the fireground. I took this photo when the wind came up and I noticed the trail being left in the air by the embers. I was amazed at how it turned out, seeing that I had no idea about settings or f stop or anything to do with my camera at the time.
