Squeakaz Squawking's ....

Sunday morning at work was one of the best mornings I have had at work in a long time. We took the Waratah train to Springwood for some testing and we were lucky enough to have time for some photographs at various locations along the way. Thanks to D for making it a fantastic morning and thanks to Druey for popping by to say Hi and faking totos (taking photos) of our train :-) We started out of Penrith at around 540am which allowed for some night time photos before we left. Once I got home and checked the photos on the bigger screen, what I thought looked reasonably ok on the cameras LCD screen was no where near good to say the least. So it is official, I really suck at night photography. How am I going to fix this you ask? Well, i am just going to have to practice. I most enjoy photographing trains and thankfully I have a few locations near by where trains are stabled and I can use for practice. So over the coming weeks I hope to improve. OSCar - Outer Suburban Carraiges I am currently on day work (which we all know I don't like) but this time at least its something interesting. Well thats what I thought anyway. The first day was interesting only because we spent most of it on train and I haven't spent much time on OSCar's in the past. Everything else that was being taught to us was refreshing my memory which isn't a bad thing but was a little boring. Tomorrow will hopefully be a little more interesting as we should be learning things specific to the OSCar. 

Time for a little catching up. Its been 2 weeks since I last posted and to be honest nothing really major has happened. Let me see... I am really enjoying my job and I am loving the shifts. It is mainly night work as we do the majority of the testing when the other trains have finished their runs for the night. This means I am sleeping during the day and surprisingly I am managing to obtain 7-8 hours sleep, even with my inconsiderate neighbours. On the new home front everything is moving along nicely at the moment. I shall have an update for my building blog http://www.squeakbuilds.blogspot.com this weekend. Our little puppy is growing fast and is currently in the rebellious teenager stage of his life. This is proving to be a lot of fun as he is choosing to ignore alot of the ground rules that have been set down for him. Over the past few weeks I have been attending sessions and interviews for a job I have applied for at work. It is a trainer/test crew position on the new Waratah trains.  I can happily say I was successful in achieving the position and at this stage a start date is TBC. Thanks to all my friends for their support and kind references during this process.

Should I be worried that I have a worry list? Some people say no, as everyone has one. I have only recently had to develop a worry list as I have a few big things happening at the moment and its all snowballing thick and fast. Some of the things on my list include - home, land and work. Nothing bad at work, I am just waiting on something that I am dying to know. Sunday started off a fairly normal day with my morning at work taking me to Penrith and Blacktown a few times. The diagram was fairly lengthy, a total of 213km's, in such a short shift, 7hrs and 37mins. This time it was to Thirlmere and the days events at the Rail Museum "A day out with Thomas the Tank Engine".
