Trains and Afternoon Tea

A most pleasurable day was had on Wednesday. After work and the gym I traveled down to Picton to see Dave and Woo and try this "all you can eat" afternoon tea I had heard so much about. Unfortunately Woo was sick, but thankfully she is on the mend. We were also joined by Beau and Azzie.

I was not disappointed. The company was great, the food was great and the photos are great!

Just before heading out to afternoon tea, Dave gave me a quick tour of the old rail tunnel and then to a vantage point to grab the above photo. Thanks to Dave for the pointers.

Had a really good chat with Dave on the way home before dropping him at Kingswood station with just minutes to spare to get the train. Pity everyday couldn't be like this one.

Favourite Photos - Jellybean Pool

Trying a little positive note. Here are a few photos that I took. This is my first real attempt at this type of photography. Let me know what you think.

Joys of eBay

I recently purchased a Mini GPS recorder from eBay on the advice of some friends that it would make geo-tagging my photos easier. This I do not doubt but the problem is, is it does not work. The item purchased is a photoMate mini GPS Recorder 887 Lite. It was pretty much DOA. It does not save any data when it is tracking. To rectify this situation I must now send it back to Taiwan, and await the seller to send it back to the manufacturer, then receive the verdict. I am quite sure it is broken as I also had a friend who has the exact same device test it out for me, and it failed. To add to the hurt the seller (navi-world) is a piss poor communicator and it takes days for them to respond to any communication. I should just start a case with eBay and let them deal with it. It is going to cost $20 to send it back. The unit is only worth $30. Question is: Do I cut my losses and buy a new one or follow this through?

Favourite Photo - Flying Embers

I had only recently gotten my camera and Got called away with the RFS to head to a large fire burning in Nowra. I took my camera along to experiment with it at night as I was doing the night shift on the fireground. I took this photo when the wind came up and I noticed the trail being left in the air by the embers. I was amazed at how it turned out, seeing that I had no idea about settings or f stop or anything to do with my camera at the time.
