Transfer Complete!

NSWRFS Berkshire Park 7

I have finally had enough. I have transferred from comms to Orchard Hills. So I am now getting back on the Big Red Trucks full time. This is a positive step forward for me as I felt that I was becoming stale by staying in the communications Brigade as they were making it very hard for me to get anywhere or develop any skills.
My only  reason I can see for them doing this is that they feel threatened by someone considerably younger than them becoming more knowledgeable and qualified then they are.

This did not become without a little sadness, as many of my friends know I was (and still am) passionate about my role in the communications brigade, but you can only take so much crap.

One really good thing about transferring to Orchard hills is my new house is being built about 2 mins away from the station. So I really will be putting back into my own community.

I already know the majority of members there so attending training and social nights so far has been no dramas. All I have to do know is wait for a pager and key to the station so I can start turning out to fire calls.

A really good close friend has said to me:

"I would never expect anyone to do something that I would not do myself"

I relate this back to the RFS and it is one of the reasons I will continue to give many more years of service.

Catherine Hill Bay Sunrise

Catherine Hill Bay Sunrise Originally uploaded by Squeakaz This morning was an eventful one at by far the best location I have shot yet. It was all going well until 'SPLASH', bye bye camera. Thankfully the memory card survived but unfortunatly the camera not to good. Hitting a rock on the way down then completely submerging itself (tripod and all) for approx 5-10 secs. The things we do to get that one good shot!

Catching up

Time for a little catching up. Its been 2 weeks since I last posted and to be honest nothing really major has happened. Let me see... I am really enjoying my job and I am loving the shifts. It is mainly night work as we do the majority of the testing when the other trains have finished their runs for the night. This means I am sleeping during the day and surprisingly I am managing to obtain 7-8 hours sleep, even with my inconsiderate neighbours. On the new home front everything is moving along nicely at the moment. I shall have an update for my building blog http://www.squeakbuilds.blogspot.com this weekend. Our little puppy is growing fast and is currently in the rebellious teenager stage of his life. This is proving to be a lot of fun as he is choosing to ignore alot of the ground rules that have been set down for him. Here is a pic: In my previous post I mentioned that I am struggling on the night photography front. It had been a few weeks since I had gone out and taken s
